Günther, who had previously been the top performer in testing for the past three years, did not continue his success during the test prior to season 10. The other drivers, who have gained significant knowledge about the Gen3 machinery since its introduction, lapped much faster than Günther’s leading time from the previous season’s testing. Mitch Evans was the fastest driver at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, with a lap time seven-tenths quicker than Günther’s best time in 2022. Günther’s performance improved compared to the previous year, but he was still two-tenths slower than Evans. Despite this, he ranked fifth overall and completed 245 laps, providing the team with valuable data for analysis. Günther expressed confidence in Maserati’s progress and their clear direction for the upcoming season, stating that he was satisfied with how the test went.
