Fermin Aldeguer cruised to a second straight Moto2 victory at the Sepang International Circuit in commanding fashion, while Pedro Acosta
Aldeguer lost the lead to Manuel Gonzalez at the start, but was able to catch up to him at Turn 1. However, he made contact with Gonzalez and fell to the ground, allowing the Speed Up man to regain the lead. Aldeguer then pulled away from the rest of the field, creating a solid advantage. Despite initially receiving no penalty for his incident with Ramirez, Aldeguer remained untroubled and preserved his tires to win the race. Acosta finished second, securing the title with two races to spare. Ramirez held onto third place, with Ogura pushing him in the final laps. Lopez crashed out, allowing Chantra to claim sixth place. Canet and Garcia also failed to finish, while Vietti crashed out while running fourth.
