Ricciardo ‘remaining upbeat’ but F1 return could be ‘some time’ away
The AlphaTauri driver, Daniel Ricciardo, missed the last two races due to a hand injury sustained during a practice crash before the Dutch Grand Prix. He has undergone successful surgery and is currently in rehab. Liam Lawson is temporarily replacing him until he fully recovers and can return to racing. According to F1 journalist Lawrence Barretto, Ricciardo is making progress with his rehabilitation but it may take some time before he is ready to come back. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner stated that Ricciardo is unlikely to be ready for the Singapore Grand Prix and that his return may be delayed until the Qatar Grand Prix in October. The priority is ensuring his complete recovery before getting back in the car, without rushing the process.
