Quartararo demand to Yamaha: “Make what I want or I’ll have to consider moving”
The 2021 MotoGP champion, Fabio Quartararo, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s progress in a feedback meeting following a disappointing test at Misano. Quartararo’s Yamaha contract expires at the end of 2024, giving the team one year to meet his expectations or risk losing him. He stated that there is not much time for a revolution and that the future is in Yamaha’s hands. While he prefers to stay with Yamaha, if they don’t provide him with a competitive bike, he will consider moving for the 2025 season. Yamaha’s struggles, which began last year, have continued this year, with Quartararo falling behind Ducati, KTM, and Aprilia. Quartararo emphasized the importance of Yamaha creating a better bike for next year and beyond. The Misano test did not meet Quartararo’s expectations, and he expressed his dissatisfaction in a meeting with the team, requesting significant improvements. He urged Yamaha to take risks in their development to stay competitive in the coming years.
