Pol: “One of the hardest races I’ve ever done”

It comes as no surprise that the GASGAS Tech3 rider considered the Indian MotoGP to be one of the toughest races in his 18-year grand prix career. Despite starting in 20th position, Espargaro managed to climb up to twelfth place during the first lap. However, the physical strain became evident as the race progressed. Nevertheless, he held on and finished in 13th place. Although not satisfied with the result, Espargaro was pleased that he was able to complete the race considering his physical condition. Team manager Nicolas Goyon commended Espargaro for his tremendous effort, acknowledging that he was not fully prepared for the demanding conditions. Unfortunately, Espargaro’s teammate, Augusto Fernandez, encountered technical issues with his bike and had to retire after just three laps. Despite the challenges faced during the weekend, Fernandez remains optimistic and believes that the team has made progress in preparation for the upcoming races. The Japanese MotoGP practice is set to begin on Friday.
