Marko’s latest praise for Lawson mounts pressure on Tsunoda, Ricciardo
Liam Lawson has made a strong impression in his first two Formula 1 races, finishing 11th at the Italian Grand Prix. He is expected to continue racing for AlphaTauri in the next two races while Daniel Ricciardo recovers from surgery. Lawson is also a contender for the Super Formula championship in Japan. Helmut Marko, the advisor for Red Bull, has praised Lawson’s speed and compared his fighting style to Bruce McLaren. Lawson’s performance is causing a potential dilemma for Red Bull, as they have four drivers for only three seats. While Sergio Perez’s contract seems secure, if Lawson continues to impress, Marko may have to make a decision on his future. Winning the Super Formula title could further strengthen Lawson’s case for a full-time seat in Formula 1.
