Marc Marquez had already exclusively told us that rumours he would ride for Gresini Ducati for free were not true.
It has been revealed that Red Bull will end their sponsorship of Repsol Honda due to Marquez’s departure, potentially benefiting Gresini through the sponsors Marquez brings. Marquez recently provided more information about his financial situation next year, as he voluntarily terminated his Honda contract which made him the highest-paid rider in the sport. When asked if he knows any other athlete who has given up such significant sums of money, Marquez replied that he cannot think of anyone, but believes there may be others. Although money is important to everyone, it has never been his top priority. Marquez previously received criticism for residing in Andorra to take advantage of tax laws but has since moved to Madrid. He clarified that his decision to move was not solely driven by financial motives and that despite his financial position changing, he will still be one of the highest-paid in the MotoGP grid next year. Marquez emphasized that his focus is investing in his sports career and finding happiness and fulfillment on the track.
