Japanese MotoGP, Motegi – Warm-up Results
In the MotoGP at Motegi, Jorge Martin set the best lap record of 1 minute and 43.198 seconds in 2023. During the warm-up session, Jack Miller was the fastest rider on a damp track, followed by Marc Marquez, Fabio Quartararo, Augusto Fernandez, and Raul Fernandez. Jorge Martin, who is currently 8 points behind the championship leader Francesco Bagnaia, changed from wet tires to slicks during the session. He finished in sixth place, ahead of Bagnaia, while Cal Crutchlow finished eighth on wet tires. Two riders, Alex Marquez and Luca Marini, suffered fractures from injuries sustained at the previous race in Buddh and will miss the Motegi round. Yamaha test rider Cal Crutchlow is participating as a wildcard entry after retiring at the end of 2020.
