Catalunya Moto2: Dixon keeps Canet at bay as title rivals falter
Dixon rode intelligently to win the eleventh round of the championship, outmaneuvering Canet in a thrilling last lap battle. Starting from pole position, Dixon quickly established himself at the front of the race, with Canet and Gonzalez forming a lead trio behind him. Acosta then made his way through the field, taking over from Gonzalez as the group started to spread out. Dixon and Acosta seemed content to let the Pons rider lead, until Acosta made an attempt to break away. Canet fought hard to hold onto the lead, while Acosta found himself battling with Lopez. In the final laps, Dixon made his move, defending his position and blocking Canet at every opportunity. Skinner celebrated Dixon’s victory by keeping his bike running while performing push-ups on the track. Canet finished second, just 0.205s behind, and Arenas took third for his first ever Moto2 podium. Garcia had a strong finish in fourth, while Gonzalez held on for fifth. Acosta finished sixth, with Ogura and Lowes taking seventh and ninth respectively. Vietti, Roberts, and Baltus rounded out the top twelve.
