Axel Bassani says the current ZX-10RR is built entirely around Jonathan Rea, but that he hopes to make his mark for Kawasaki during the 2024 WorldSBK campaign.
Bassani was signed as a replacement for the departing six-time WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea, who will be joining Yamaha. He has already had a test at Jerez and acknowledges that it will take time to get familiar with his new bike. Despite the challenges of changing teams and bikes, Bassani feels optimistic and hopes to deliver good results for Kawasaki next season. He recognizes the difficulty of filling Rea’s shoes but is determined to understand the needs of the bike and push himself to win. While he acknowledges that it won’t be easy, he dreams of winning with Kawasaki after not achieving that with Ducati.
