Francesco Bagnaia’s crew chief has aimed an apparent jibe at Jorge Martin which could spice up the MotoGP title fight.
Factory rider Bagnaia has a 27-point lead over Pramac’s Martin in the MotoGP championship. Martin, who was leading the standings in Indonesia, suffered from the cancelled sprint race at Phillip Island, which affected his chances of competing for the title. Bagnaia’s crew chief, Gabarrini, commented on the advantages of being in an official team versus a satellite team. The four factory Ducati riders have the latest-spec bikes, while the VR46 and Gresini teams use year-old bikes. No satellite rider has won the premier class championship since 2001. Gabarrini and Martin’s crew chief, Romagnoli, have a good relationship and focus on doing their best as technicians. Gabarrini refused to comment on Martin’s weaknesses and emphasized that the upcoming rounds will require calmness, serenity, and concentration.
