Sauber’s new team principal Jonathan Wheatley has brought some of his Red Bull secrets to the team, making an immediate impact on its drivers. Both Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg see progress under Wheatley’s leadership. Wheatley, along with COO and CTO Mattia Binotto, is preparing Sauber for the transition to Audi’s works F1 outfit in 2026. The team, currently at the bottom of the championship, is already showing improvements, notably in faster pit stops. While acknowledging the progress, Bortoleto emphasizes that success will take time, as in all aspects of F1. Sauber is focused on continuing to push its limits and improve under Wheatley’s guidance.
