Red Bull’s Max Verstappen had a challenging British Grand Prix, worsened by the rain and his low downforce wing choice that impacted his performance during the Formula 1 race. Despite switching to a lower downforce rear wing to address understeer issues from Friday, he managed to secure pole position but struggled in the wet conditions, eventually finishing in fifth place after difficulties during the race. Verstappen admitted that his pace was lacking and the race was tough, with oversteer and understeer making it challenging to control the car on track. The unexpected weather change posed additional challenges for Verstappen, with the rain impacting his race strategy and overall performance. Despite the setbacks, he believed that the team made the right decisions given the circumstances, ultimately finishing in fifth place and acknowledging the limitations of his car under the changing conditions at Silverstone.
