Ford has selected ORECA as its chassis partner for the 2027 World Endurance Championship, marking their return to top-tier sportscar racing and Le Mans 24 Hours competition after 40 years.
The company also announced a partnership with ORECA, as well as the appointment of Dan Sayers from Red Bull Powertrains to head up the Hypercar operation for their LMDh programme.
Jim Farley, Ford’s CEO, expressed their determination to win at Le Mans and compete against top-class teams like Ferrari with ORECA’s support.
Sayers, known for his success with Aston Martin at Le Mans, shared his excitement about leading Ford’s return to Le Mans and taking on new challenges with the company.
Ford’s global director, Mark Rushbrook, highlighted the significance of ORECA and Sayers in laying the foundation for their WEC Hypercar programme and emphasized their progress towards a successful return to prototype racing.
