Unraveling the Verstappen Impeding Incident: Insights from Hamilton in F1 Monaco GP Qualifying

Lewis Hamilton has discussed the incident with Max Verstappen during Formula 1 qualifying at Monaco Grand Prix, resulting in a three-place grid drop for Sunday’s race. Hamilton was mistakenly informed by his team that Verstappen was slowing down, leading him to impede the Red Bull driver by moving to the middle of the track.

Despite qualifying fourth, Hamilton will start seventh after blocking Verstappen into Massenet during Q1, causing the Dutchman to abandon his lap.

Both drivers and team representatives were summoned by FIA race stewards post-qualifying, with Verstappen expecting sanctions for Hamilton. However, Verstappen absolved Hamilton of blame, citing a team error.

Hamilton acknowledged feeling more confident in the Ferrari this weekend, following an improved performance in Imola. He praised the car’s setup, learning curve, and expressed satisfaction with the post-crash recovery.
