Tragedy Strikes: Fatal Fire Claims Three Lives at Bicester Motion

“Tragically, two firefighters and a member of the public lost their lives in a fire at the Bicester Motion complex on Thursday night.

The facility houses various motorsport and automotive businesses, many of which have ties to the historic racing scene.

Fortunately, the McLaren Formula E team, located at Bicester Motion, was not directly affected by the fire and has relocated its remote support for the weekend race in Tokyo.

Despite the incident, Motorsport UK, whose headquarters are also located at Bicester, remains unaffected.

The entire site will be closed over the weekend as investigators work to determine the cause of the fire that erupted at around 1830 BST.

Eyewitnesses described hearing explosions at the site, which was formerly an airfield during World War Two and later transformed into a business park in 2013.

Our condolences go out to the families and friends of those affected by this tragic event.”
