“Super Touring Power drew a crowd of star cars and drivers to Brands Hatch last weekend, including legends like Anthony Reid and Patrick Watts, alongside current British Touring Car stars Colin Turkington and Tom Ingram.
Ingram had his first taste of Group A machinery in a Ford Sierra RS500 owned by a BTCC rival’s namesake, adapting to the turbocharged power while facing fuel pressure and propshaft issues during the races.
Despite challenges, Ingram managed to put the car on pole position and showed a blistering race pace, impressing with the performance and power of the historic vehicle.
Chris Hodgetts, a two-time BTCC champion, had a nostalgic reunion with a Vauxhall Cavalier GSi that he raced 35 years ago, highlighting the development history of the car in the Super Touring era.
