Ash Sutton secured pole position for the fourth round at Thruxton, his first since the 2023 season finale, showcasing his mastery of wet conditions in his NAPA Ford Focus ST.
Despite facing disadvantages such as limited TOCA Turbo Boost per lap, Sutton managed to outperform his competitors and set the pace across all three qualifying rounds.
Joining Sutton on the front row was Tom Ingram, the 2022 champion, who also adapted well to the wet track with three seconds of TTB allowance.
Sutton’s performance was exceptional, finishing 0.294 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, demonstrating remarkable skill on the challenging circuit.
The wet weather added an extra layer of difficulty to the qualifying rounds, with many drivers, including Ingram, struggling to maintain control on the soaking track.
Despite the challenging conditions, newcomers and seasoned drivers alike put on an impressive show, setting the stage for an exciting race at Thruxton.
