Will Rowlands and Emyr Hall won the Argyll Rally, round four of the British Historic Rally Championship, with a fine victory in the historic element of the event. The battle was intense as they finished with a minute and a half lead over Barry Stevenson-Wheeler and Richard Wise in a similar Ford Escort Mk2.
David Crossen and co-driver Ben Teggart started strong in their Escort Mk2 and led initially, but Crossen’s rally ended prematurely due to mechanical issues.
Rowlands praised their performance while also expressing disappointment for Crossen, whom they considered too fast and unfortunate to retire mid-rally. They secured their first outright BHRC win in an impressive display.
The event also saw Stephen Hall and Aggie Foster claim victory in Category 1 with their Triumph TR4, while Baz Jordan and Arwel Jenkins faced challenges in Category 4, ultimately losing to John Marshall and Craig Wallace in a BMW M3.
The Argyll Rally showcased thrilling competition and remarkable performances, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the championship.
