Rovanpera adds Safari Rally Kenya to WRC part-time programme
Toyota has announced that Kalle Rovanpera will drive one of the three factory Toyota GR Yaris cars at the upcoming gravel rally in Kenya next month. Rovanpera will join his Toyota teammates Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta in the race. This will be Rovanpera’s second consecutive WRC event, following his participation in Rally Sweden. Despite a strong performance in Sweden, Rovanpera aims for victory in Kenya. Toyota has been dominant in recent WRC events, and Rovanpera’s schedule beyond Kenya may include rounds in Latvia and Finland. Hyundai’s Esapekka Lappi is set to pilot the third factory entry for the team. Thierry Neuville currently leads the championship standings.
