Brad Pitt expressed his desire to improve on his Formula 1 debut after narrowly missing his 200mph goal while test-driving Lando Norris’ 2023 McLaren car at Circuit of the Americas.
As part of McLaren’s Testing of Previous Cars program, Pitt, known for his role in F1: The Movie as Sonny Hayes, had the chance to drive a fully-fledged F1 car for the first time, based on F2 models.
Despite hitting 197mph on the track with guidance from Norris, Pitt fell just short of his target speed, describing the experience as an “extraordinary feeling of presence” and a unique high.
The Hollywood star likened the sensation of driving an F1 car to being in an aerobatic plane, highlighting the immense downforce and unparalleled speed and control.
Pitt praised McLaren’s Zak Brown and the team, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and hinting at a desire to return to the track to beat his previous time and continue to push his limits in F1 machinery.
