In Saturday’s GT & Sports Car Cup season-opener, a venomous AC Cobra outperformed Jaguar E-types, showcasing a thrilling two-hour race at the Historic Sports Car Club-run International Trophy on the Grand Prix circuits. Chris Chiles bravely battled the Jags of Richard Kent and John Pearson, with the Cobra leading before making its first pit stop. Despite challenges, Jaguars secured second to fifth places, with notable performances from Alistair Dyson, James Dorlin, and Mark Burton/Jason Minshaw. Crispin Harris/James Wilmoth shone in GT3, while Malcolm Paul/Rick Bourne and Alice Locke/Matt Green emerged victorious in GT2 and TC1, respectively.

The Griffiths Haig Trophy races featured a diverse mix of cars, with Graham Moss excelling in his works Lister-Jaguar Knobbly, and Andy Storer showcasing a historic Willment-Climax. Jordan Harrison dominated Classic Formula Ford, followed closely by Rick Morris and Scott Rawlinson. Notable performances were also seen from female drivers, including Grace Parkington, Grace Bates, and Murron Parkington, who displayed remarkable progress in their respective events. The Derek Bell Trophy opener saw an unfortunate collision at Copse, sidelining top contenders and leading to a close battle between Christian Pittard and Chris Porritt for victory.
