Toyota Gazoo Racing’s technical director David Floury criticized the FIA’s Balance of Performance for the Le Mans 24 Hours race, expressing disappointment at their fifth and 15th place finishes compared to Ferrari’s dominance.
Floury acknowledged the team’s failure to achieve their goal of winning and noted that the favorite for victory was accurately predicted, indicating a lack of surprise in the outcome.
Despite leading the race briefly with the #8 car, technical issues hindered their performance, and Floury sarcastically described their race as being in a lower class with no top speed, alongside Cadillac and Aston Martin.
Floury humorously listed various segments of the track where the GR010 Hybrid lacked performance, showcasing the challenges faced by the team throughout the race.
Ultimately, Toyota Gazoo Racing struggled to compete with the top-performing cars, leading to a sixth-place finish for the #7 entry, later elevated to fifth post-race, highlighting the team’s difficulties at Le Mans.
