Aprilia rider Jorge Martin has confirmed his intention to leave the team at the end of the 2025 MotoGP season, revealing his decision on Thursday. Despite joining Aprilia only for the 2025 season, a contractual clause allows Martin to depart after round six of 2025 if he’s not in title contention. Aprilia has contested this clause due to Martin’s season-long injuries, arguing that his contract remains valid. Martin, who won last year’s title with Pramac Ducati, stated that his decision was based on clear conditions agreed upon when signing. He emphasized the importance of testing the bike before committing to two years and expressed a desire for mutual respect while navigating his future in the sport.
