Quartararo’s Controversial Clash: MotoGP Star Penalised for Second Track Incident

Fabio Quartararo expressed his frustration at Le Mans after crashing out of the French Grand Prix, engaging in a confrontation with track marshals and receiving a penalty for the next round at Silverstone. Despite a strong showing at his home race, Quartararo’s hopes for a podium finish were dashed by a rainy race that resulted in a crash while he was running second.

Quartararo’s attempt to rejoin the race after the crash was met with resistance from marshals, sparking a heated exchange due to the refusal to let him continue. This incident, captured by fans on social media, led to a 10-minute suspension and a €2,000 fine for Quartararo at the British GP’s opening practice session. The FIM stewards penalized him for his “irresponsible behaviour and failure to follow direct instructions,” citing a risk to himself and others.

This clash with marshals at Le Mans was the second consecutive altercation for Quartararo, following a similar incident at Jerez two weeks prior. While the Jerez incident concluded with only a verbal dispute, the Le Mans fallout resulted in disciplinary action, highlighting the FIM’s stance against emotional outbursts directed at marshals.
