British Grand Prix poleman Fabio Quartararo expressed his lack of optimism for Sunday’s race after being overtaken by top Ducati riders during the Saturday sprint, dropping to seventh place. Despite claiming pole position earlier in the day without assistance, Quartararo struggled with the lower straightline speed of his Yamaha compared to the Ducatis. He also faced challenges with his bike overreacting to changes in grip between qualifying and the race, affecting his performance. The reigning world champion acknowledged the power disadvantage of his Yamaha and the difficulty in managing it during the race. Given these issues and the expected decrease in track grip on Sunday, Quartararo was not hopeful for his prospects in the upcoming race.
