McLaren has implemented changes to the floor of the MCL39 Formula 1 car ahead of the British Grand Prix, including a minor adjustment to the rear brake duct inlet, in an effort to further enhance performance.
With a substantial lead of 207 points in the constructors’ championship, McLaren is focused on solidifying its title defense with continued developments as the season progresses.
The team’s technical notes indicate improvements in flow conditioning and aerodynamic performance due to the revised floor design.
The updated brake inlet is expected to provide aerodynamic benefits, enhance rear end stability, and improve cooling efficiency.
Red Bull has also introduced floor updates at Silverstone, aiming to enhance pressure distribution and stability with revised underbody surfaces and new floor fences.
Aston Martin has made additional modifications, including changes to floor surfaces, fences, and edges, along with an upgraded upper bodywork package to enhance overall underbody performance.
Haas has revamped its floor design to address high-speed instability issues, with alterations including reshaped floor fences, surface changes, and a new sidepod inlet to improve grip and stability and foster driver confidence.
