Despite two terrifying crashes at the Assen circuit, Marc Marquez miraculously escaped major injuries and managed to keep his sense of humor intact despite needing stitches in his chin. The first incident occurred during the practice session, where Marquez took a hard fall at almost 200kph, resulting in his hand losing circulation. Later, he lost control in the afternoon session, getting dragged across the track and gravel, leading to injuries that required stitches on his chest and chin. This scene brought back memories of his serious 2013 Mugello accident, where he suffered a significant facial injury. Fortunately, Ducati’s medical report confirmed Marquez had no fractures, only bruises on his face, finger, stomach, and left elbow. Although in pain, Marquez made light of the situation, joking about his non-championship counting stitches and the need to upgrade the circuit’s gravel for safety reasons.
