Marquez ‘didn’t want to battle’ Martin in Qatar to not hurt his MotoGP title hopes
Martin had a difficult race in Qatar, struggling to 10th place due to a problem with his rear tyre, while Bagnaia finished second. As a result, Martin is now 21 points behind Bagnaia in the championship. Martin expressed his frustration with Michelin, claiming they had “stolen” the title from him. During the race, Martin battled with Marquez before Marquez finished in 11th place. Marquez observed that Martin was struggling with rear grip and chose not to fight him too hard because the points wouldn’t have made a significant difference for him. Marquez finished 11th in both races and admitted that he couldn’t ride well in the grand prix. He focused on finishing the race to better prepare for his final Honda outing in Valencia.
