Marc Marquez stated that his win at the Aragon Grand Prix was crucial for his MotoGP title chances, as it broke his three-race winless run and increased his championship lead to 32 points over his brother Alex Marquez in second place, with Francesco Bagnaia in third.
Aragon marked Marquez’s first victory since Qatar in April, following a 12th place in Jerez and podium finishes at Le Mans and Silverstone in the succeeding rounds, making it his fourth win of the season, with a strong performance in most sprint races.
Marquez emphasized the importance of this victory for himself and his team, acknowledging the need to avoid repeating mistakes like the one in Austin, which cost him valuable points, underscoring his commitment to the championship fight.
Dominating the Aragon GP weekend, Marquez clinched the victory comfortably ahead of Alex and Bagnaia, describing the race as perfect and highlighting his strong feeling on the bike throughout.
Despite Marc’s success and extended lead, Alex expressed satisfaction with his performance and celebrated with the fans at their local track, recognizing the tough competition from his brother but also relishing their shared podium celebration and the friendly rivalry between them.
