MotoGP rookie Fermin Aldeguer aims for a factory Ducati ride in 2027, surprised by his recent maiden podium achievement at Le Mans in only his sixth MotoGP race. Prior to his podium, he had impressed with a fifth place in Qatar, indicating a steady improvement and comfort with the Ducati bike.
Aldeguer’s consistent progress has placed him 8th in the overall standings, making him the standout rookie of the season ahead of seasoned riders like Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra. His long-planned move to MotoGP materialized in 2023 with a four-year contract directly with Ducati, setting clear goals for his development.
At just 20 years old, Aldeguer eyes a future in Ducati’s factory team, targeting a transition in 2027 when notable contracts expire. He acknowledges the support from teammate Alex Marquez in his rapid adaptation to MotoGP, emphasizing their strong working relationship.
While aiming for his first race win, Aldeguer remains focused on consistent progress and not letting the pursuit of victory consume him. With a positive outlook on his current form, he sees winning a race in his debut season as a real possibility, with Silverstone holding special significance as the site of his first Moto2 victory.
