The FIA has removed Sara Mariani from her position as the organisation’s Sustainability, Diversity, and Inclusion director in a restructuring move. Mariani, who held the role for 18 months, expressed her gratitude for the experience but acknowledged the abrupt end of her tenure. The FIA announced a division of the sustainability, diversity, and inclusion function into two separate units, leading to Mariani’s redundancy. The FIA thanked Mariani for her contributions and ensured her support during the transition period. The changes will see the sustainability program under Willem Groenewald and diversity and inclusion under Alessandra Malhame. Mariani’s exit is part of a series of senior figure departures, including Robert Reid, Paolo Basarri, Bertrand Badre, Tom Purves, Natalie Robyn, Niels Wittich, Tim Mayer, Janette Tan, and Johnny Herbert from various roles within the organization.
