Ferrari’s Upgrades: A Case of Too Little Too Late in F1 Austrian GP?

Ferrari had high hopes for their Formula 1 successes in 2025 after a strong performance last year, but their expectations have not been met, with McLaren taking the lead and Ferrari facing setbacks due to pursuing a different car design approach.

Ferrari introduced a floor update in Austria, aiming to improve their downforce consistency during cornering and traction, which showed some progress as they secured the 3rd and 4th positions in the race.

Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc acknowledged the positive impact of the updates, with both expressing confidence in Ferrari’s continuous development and the potential to challenge front-runners McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes.

Despite challenges faced by their competitors in Austria, Ferrari sees the upcoming Silverstone race as a crucial test for their new parts and overall performance improvement, hoping to close the gap with the leading teams and secure stronger results moving forward.
