Verstappen’s attempts to regain the lead were thwarted by a lack of grip and technical issues, forcing him into a series of pitstops and strategic tire changes.
McLaren’s strong performance and strategic pitstops allowed them to maintain their lead over Verstappen, who faced challenges with tire degradation and grip issues throughout the race.
Despite Verstappen’s efforts to reclaim top positions, he was ultimately penalized for an aggressive incident with Russell, resulting in a disappointing finish for the Red Bull driver.
