Dissecting Lawson’s Troubled Return to Racing Bulls F1: A Season of Struggles and Setbacks

Liam Lawson described his current results in Formula 1 as “pretty shocking” after four grands prix with Racing Bulls, lacking any points so far and facing technical issues hindering his performances in races such as in Bahrain and Miami.

Public opinion seems to favor Isack Hadjar as the standout Racing Bulls driver in 2025, with the French rookie consistently fighting for points and outqualifying Lawson 4-1.

Although Lawson may have a slight advantage over Hadjar in qualifying when trouble-free, his average grid position of 14.5 hampers his Sunday race performance, contrasting with Hadjar’s who is at 11 on average.

Despite a challenging Japanese Grand Prix where Lawson finished 17th, Hadjar secured a strong eighth-place finish, highlighting the performance gap between the two drivers.

Looking ahead, Lawson acknowledges the need to reset and focus on avoiding collisions and penalties to turn around his fortunes in upcoming races, while maintaining confidence in his team’s approach and the speed of his car.
