Sergio Perez believes Red Bull’s actions contributed to a toxic environment within his garage in the latter part of the 2024 Formula 1 season, increasing pressure on him to perform. Following his sudden departure from F1, Perez revealed in a conversation with former driver Memo Rojas Jr that Red Bull failed to support him despite being aware of the car development challenges. The Mexican driver highlighted that despite having a signed contract, the team did not shield him from speculation about his future, leading to heightened pressure on him and the team. Red Bull’s decision to replace Perez with Liam Lawson, then Yuki Tsunoda, failed to bring the expected results, with Helmut Marko shifting blame from the team to Perez for losing the constructors’ championship. Perez disclosed that he has been informed of Red Bull regretting the outcome of their decision, citing the departure of key personnel like Adrian Newey as a turning point in the team’s trajectory.
