Four-time British Touring Car Championship title winner Ash Sutton delivered a brilliant performance to win the second race of the day at Thruxton, starting from fourth position.
Despite starting fourth, Sutton’s NAPA-liveried Alliance Racing Ford Focus ST made a remarkable move to take the lead right from the start, passing pole-sitter Tom Ingram.
Sutton excelled in building a significant lead over Ingram, who was unable to keep up due to having fewer turbo boosts available.
Although Josh Cook applied pressure on Ingram during the race, Ingram managed to secure second place behind Sutton at the finish.
Dan Rowbottom, also driving an Alliance Racing Ford, secured a podium position after Cook was disqualified for a post-race ride-height check.
In a series of battles, several drivers shifted positions, with Senna Proctor eventually winning an internal Excelr8 Hyundai clash and securing sixth place.
Ultimately, it was a race filled with intense competition and strategic moves, showcasing the skills and determination of the drivers on the track.
