Christian Horner sacked as Red Bull F1 team boss

Christian Horner has been removed as CEO of the Red Bull Formula 1 team with immediate effect, after leading the squad since its inception 20 years ago.

Horner’s departure comes amid Red Bull’s decline in performance, currently standing in fourth place in the constructors’ championship halfway through the 2025 season.

Max Verstappen continues to shine with two victories this season, but overall, the team has struggled following McLaren’s resurgence last year.

Amidst these changes, Red Bull has also lost key personnel to other teams, with uncertainty surrounding Verstappen’s future despite his contract until 2028.

Laurent Mekies has taken over as Team Principal, while Alan Permane steps in as Racing Bulls team principal, signaling a new chapter for the Red Bull Racing family.
