Franco Colapinto has been struggling to find his rhythm with his Alpine car in his first three races, but he is optimistic that improvements from the team’s factory can lead to a breakthrough at the Canadian Grand Prix. Although replacing Jack Doohan mid-season, Colapinto has yet to demonstrate significant progress over the demoted Australian rookie after a crash at Imola and lackluster performances in Monaco and Barcelona. Acting team principal Flavio Briatore is closely evaluating Colapinto’s performance as he considers Pierre Gasly’s future teammate for 2026. Despite a challenging return to Formula 1, Colapinto acknowledges the difficulties of readapting after a six-race absence and is focused on learning and adapting to the Alpine car’s nuances to improve his performance. The Argentine driver believes the team has identified areas for improvement and is hopeful that the adjustments made in the factory will help him feel more connected to the car and enable a stronger performance at the upcoming race in Canada.
