Bastianini out of next three MotoGP rounds following Catalan GP crash
Italian MotoGP rider Enea Bastianini underwent successful surgery on his left ankle and hand after crashing during the Catalan Grand Prix. He suffered fractures in the crash, which occurred on the opening lap of the race. As a result, Bastianini will miss the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, as well as the Indian and Japanese Grand Prix events. His teammate Francesco Bagnaia also had a crash, but luckily escaped serious injury and is expected to compete in the upcoming race. Ducati has not announced a replacement for Bastianini, but Michele Pirro may take his place. This is the second time Bastianini has been forced to sit out this season, as he previously missed five rounds due to a broken shoulder.
