Analyzing the downfall of Red Bull F1 chief Horner: A story of missed opportunities

Red Bull shocked the Formula 1 world by sacking team principal Christian Horner after his 20-year tenure, despite his success in leading the team to multiple championships. Horner oversaw periods of dominance with drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, securing 124 race wins and over 8,000 world championship points for Red Bull.

However, recent controversies and a decline in performance led to Horner’s dismissal, following investigations into his alleged inappropriate behavior towards a female employee at the team in February 2024. Despite being cleared of wrongdoing, leaked messages in March reignited the scandal, damaging Horner’s reputation further.

With Horner’s departure, Laurent Mekies is set to take over as Red Bull’s new team principal, marking the end of an era for the team. Additionally, highly influential technical director Adrian Newey announced his own exit from Red Bull, signaling a significant shift in the team’s leadership.
