Alpine Makes Bold Move: Loaning F1 Reserve Aron to Sauber for FP1 Opportunities

Alpine has agreed to loan reserve driver Paul Aron to Sauber for him to participate in FP1 at Silverstone and Budapest for the team.

Sauber needed a rookie driver for two of the four required FP1 sessions this season, as they do not have designated reserve drivers.

Aron, a former F2 frontrunner and part of Alpine’s reserve roster, will drive in place of Nico Hulkenberg at Sauber for the upcoming races.

Aron expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain Formula 1 track time and stated his ambition to race full-time in F1 in the future.

In addition to his Sauber sessions, Aron will continue covering Alpine’s remaining FP1 duties and focus on his development with the team.

Alpine is likely to retain Franco Colapinto as Pierre Gasly’s teammate despite a challenging period, while speculation links Valtteri Bottas as a potential replacement option for Colapinto in the future.
