Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed his favourite F1 car – and it’s not one of his championship-winning Mercedes.
Hamilton has had a highly successful Formula 1 career, with over 100 race wins. He has driven some of the most dominant cars in F1 history, including the Mercedes W11 in 2020, which is considered the fastest car ever in terms of downforce. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the race calendar, he still considers one of the iconic McLaren cars, the MP4/4, as his favorite. The MP4/4, driven by Ayrton Senna in 1988, won almost all of the races that season and Hamilton had the opportunity to drive it on the show “Top Gear” in 2009. Hamilton praises the MP4/4 for its simplicity and mechanical grip, comparing it to a go-kart.
