McLaren Faces Severe Repercussions Following Lando Norris’s Monaco Mishap

Lando Norris was summoned to the Monaco Grand Prix stewards following the incident.

McLaren has been given a €30,000 fine by Monaco Grand Prix stewards, with €10,000 suspended, for violating rules on Lando Norris’s car. Norris encountered a steering wheel issue in FP2, leading to a stoppage in the tunnel. The marshals faced difficulty activating the Clutch Disengagement System (CDS) to move the car. This incident echoes Liam Lawson’s investigation in Canada, where Racing Bulls were fined. McLaren placed tape over the CDS button for aerodynamic reasons, hindering its quick activation by track marshals. The stewards chose to partially suspend the fine, recognizing the importance of CDS compliance after the previous penalty.
