The Return of a Racing Legend: F1 Champion Contemplates Comeback to Motorsport

It hasn’t taken Jenson Button long to get itchy racing feet again.

Jenson Button recently retired from racing after the 8 Hours of Bahrain last November, concluding an illustrious career in Formula 1, Super GT, and the World Endurance Championship. However, just six months into retirement, Button is considering a return to racing, expressing interest in driving the Aston Martin Valkyrie at Le Mans in the future. Despite his successful career, Button never had the opportunity to race in a car designed by Adrian Newey, the renowned F1 designer. Now, as a team ambassador for Aston Martin, Button’s dream of driving the Valkyrie at Le Mans seems more plausible. Button aims to achieve the Triple Crown of Motorsport by winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Indianapolis 500, a feat only achieved by Graham Hill so far. Although Button has not yet won Le Mans in his four attempts, he remains optimistic about teammate Fernando Alonso’s chances, who has already triumphed at Monaco and Le Mans, coming close at Indy as well. Despite setbacks in his own Triple Crown pursuits, Button remains enthusiastic about the prospects for Fernando Alonso, emphasizing his teammate’s potential for completing the esteemed achievement.
