Life has changed considerably for Max Verstappen over the last year, since becoming a father.
Max Verstappen recently shared his thoughts on fatherhood and how leaving for races has become more challenging with a young daughter at home.
His daughter, Lily, was born a year ago just before the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, forever changing Verstappen’s perspective on life.
To prioritize time with his daughter and partner Kelly Piquet, Verstappen now delays his departure for Grand Prix races as much as possible.
This shift in his schedule led him to arrive in Canada for the Grand Prix a day later than usual, highlighting a year of personal growth and new obstacles for the 28-year-old.
Reflecting on his first year as a father, Verstappen emphasized the importance of allowing children to choose their own paths and being kind to family, while also emphasizing the value of sports for health and discipline. He also touched on the need for compassion towards those around you as life is unpredictable.
