Revving up for the Future: F1’s Strategic Formula for the 2026 Grand Prix Calendar

Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that “alternative” options are under consideration.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has confirmed the existence of a contingency plan in case the season-ending Grands Prix in Qatar and Abu Dhabi get canceled due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. The cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix earlier in the year due to the Iran-United States/Israel war has raised concerns about the upcoming races. Organizers are exploring options to potentially reschedule these races, but the volatile situation in the region continues to pose challenges. Domenicali emphasized the need to make a decision before the summer break in August regarding the feasibility of the races in October. While rescheduling both races may be impossible, Domenicali assured that a contingency plan is in place in case the end-of-year races cannot take place. The Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 22 will not serve as the season finale, as Domenicali confirmed there are other alternatives in place.
