Lewis Hamilton is looking to continue not using a simulator in preparation for a grand prix, following the opening day of the Canadian GP.
Lewis Hamilton has defended his decision not to use a simulator for the Canadian Grand Prix, stating that Sprint qualifying felt the best he has all year. Despite qualifying fifth for the Sprint, he felt competitive throughout the weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He made a mistake on his final flying lap that cost him a higher starting position. Hamilton was pleased with his performance and the car’s feel, reaffirming his stance on avoiding simulator work going forward. He commended the engineers for the set-up changes that made the car feel fantastic and expressed enjoyment during the sessions. Hamilton believes that skipping the simulator was key to his success in the Grand Prix.
