Max Verstappen put the #3 Mercedes into the lead of the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours after an outstanding night stint.
Taking over from Dani Juncadella at approximately 01:30 local time on early Sunday morning, Verstappen immediately engaged in a battle with the #80 Mercedes.
Despite a tense overtake maneuver involving contact with Maro Engel, Verstappen emerged unscathed with the lead, passing the car to Jules Gounon after a strong double stint.
Gounon successfully maintained the lead until Lucas Auer took over, holding a 15-second advantage over the #80 Mercedes.
