Honda has endured a challenging start to the new season in its partnership with Aston Martin.
Honda has prioritized fine-tuning its energy management settings after both cars completed the Miami Grand Prix for the first time this season. Despite a challenging start to the 2026 campaign, the Japanese manufacturer is addressing power unit issues that have plagued the Aston Martin team. The engine’s vibrations have stressed the chassis and drivers, but recent improvements allowed Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll to finish the full race distance. Honda’s chief engineer praised the progress, noting the absence of major reliability issues in Miami. Moving forward, Honda aims to enhance performance by optimizing energy management data settings and driveability. There is still room for improvement in the power unit, with a focus on further enhancements.
